Nicaya Kennels & Dog Sled Race Team
Nanook - A natural born leader on a post season training run up the West Fork of Rock Creek, Red Lodge, Montana
|
Nicaya Kennels strives to breed quality and personable purebred Siberian Huskies with strong work ethic and proper aesthetic value with proven race histories. We wish to produce the highest quality pups for dog sled racing, freight pulling and other harness related fields.
|
Goals
We seek to produce pups and dogs that are
available to mushers for training and for
working. We wish to carefully and selectively
breed for desirable working characteristics
and personality traits.
Our racing goals for this year are to finish in
the top ten places in each individual race that
we enter. We also wish to achieve our Iditarod
qualifications. Ultimately, Nicaya Kennels
would like to race in the Iditarod starting in
either 2009 or 2010, running a team of
Siberian Huskies, and eventually the Yukon
Quest.
Our long-term goals include kennel expansion
and toboggan, freight and sprint sled
production. We are currently working on
making available Dog Sled Tours up in the
beautiful mountains outside of Red Lodge,
Montana starting the winter of 2009. We
would also like to offer racing camps and
training for new mushers in the near future.
